Under a direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Assistant will be responsible for identifying and enrolling subjects into the study, and performing data collection as outlined in the study protocol. Other responsibilities include data management, validation, working with the IRB and research regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, and assisting Principal Investigator (PI) with manuscript and grant preparation. Other aspects of the position are ensuring that the enrollment process is efficient and effective, that data is collected clearly, error-free, and confidentially, while following all of the rules and regulations of the UCLA Office of Research. The Research Assistant will keep track of the study progress and identify needs that occur throughout the study. The Research Assistant will maintain open lines of communication with the PI that include meeting at least twice a month to discuss progress and area of need to ensure ongoing progress; and a weekly team meeting. The Research Assistant will also administer sleep education sessions to persons with dementia and their family caregivers.
