We're looking for three Legal Counsels to join @ Mandatum!

We're now looking for skilled legal experts to join Mandatum's Group Legal function. Group Legal has currently eight legal professionals providing support for all Mandatum Group's legal matters. Business & Investment Legal team is part of Group Legal and provides support specifically for Mandatum's business units and portfolio management. For Mandatum, you are a great match if you have a Finnish law degree, and you are eager to combine your specific areas of expertise with general financial sector legal knowledge. You are a natural team player with a strong can-do attitude as well as eagerness to widen your scope of expertise. Furthermore, you have excellent co-operation skills and ability to prioritize different demands. To succeed in your role, you also need to have excellent communication skills and you are fluent in both Finnish and English. The roles are based at Mandatum's office in the center of Helsinki, and you have a flexible opportunity to work remotely with Mandatum's hybrid model.
(Senior) Legal Counsel @ Business & Investment Legal team: In this position, you will work with various tasks relating to Mandatum's investment products (such as unit-linked insurances, funds, and related regulation) and applicable regulation. You support the company's product development and governance, portfolio management and investment operations in the development, marketing, and sales of the investment products. You have the possibility to participate in product development processes from a legal perspective and take part in various internal projects as well as regulatory implementation together with the relevant business stakeholders. Your role also includes active monitoring and training of financial regulatory developments. To succeed in this role, you have at least 3 years of relevant post-graduation experience in a law firm or an in-house position within the financial sector. You have previous experience from working with investment products or insurances - knowledge of financial regulation (IDD, MiFiD, ESG) is considered as an advantage.
Tax, (Senior) Legal Counsel @ Business & Investment Legal team: In this role, your work will include variety of tasks relating to taxation; product offering, investments, tax regulation, supporting the finance department with different company level tax questions and M&A. In addition to tax related questions, you will be supporting the company's portfolio management and investment operations in the development, marketing, and sales of their investment products. You have the possibility to participate in product development processes from tax and legal perspectives and take part in various internal projects as well as regulatory implementation together with the relevant business stakeholders. Your role also includes active monitoring and training of financial regulatory developments, especially regarding taxation. To succeed in this role, you have at least 5 years of relevant post-graduation experience within taxation in a law firm or an in-house position within the financial sector.
Contract & Procurement, (Senior) Legal Counsel @ Group Legal: As the group's main expert in this area, you have a both an independent and responsible role in handling Mandatum's ICT contract and procurement related tasks. In your day-to-day work, you will review, draft, and negotiate different types of agreements as well as develop and maintain the procurement and outsourcing processes. Project coordination and varying authority processes (e.g.e.g. account transfers, regulatory processes) are also part of your job description. To succeed in this role, you have at least 5 years of post-graduation experience and solid knowledge within contract law. You have strong insight and you have gained experience in how to combine legal knowledge with business context.
